To earn real money in affiliate program sales, you must do three things: promote, promote, promote! If you are new, you've got to keep your costs way down. Here is a plan for doing just that--- promote your affiliate product and never spend a dime in advertising. 1. First write an article. Article writing is one the best, cheapest, most effective ways of getting the word out on your affiliate product. If you are any good at all at writing, getting published is a cinch. But here's the key: don't be too blatant about your product in your article! Submit your article to the top five or six article directories. Now, rewrite your article and send it to the next highest ranked ten or twenty directories. You do the rewrite to avoid any duplicate content penalties by the search engines. Here is a strict guideline: Do NOT talk about your product directly. Instead, give the reader good quality content about your niche. If your niche is to do with building doll houses, then give the reader a good article on how to solve (say) the top three most common problems in building doll houses. Top article directories (and you should always deal with the very best) will not allow you to do a blatant affiliate program sales promotion. Learn to be a little bit subtle! Once you have given, you now have permission to take. You may include your website (top level domains ONLY) in your resource box at the bottom of the article. If you have been able to sell yourself to the reader as an expert of some sort, you stand a good chance of getting the click. You can earn real money with this strategy. But--- keep reading. There's more! 2. Now, repackage your article as a tutorial. This means a change of wording and a change of format to give your article more of a "how-to" feel. Sites like eHow are great places to publish this sort of educational material. Tutorial sites get good traffic, and you're ahead of the game because most article writers would never think to do this. Plus--- it's still free. 3. Having made your article into a tutorial, now turn THAT into a Powerpoint presentation, being sure to include your URL. Submit it to Slideshare and similar sites, and find yourself with yet another traffic source that comes to you... totally free. 4. And finally turn your Powerpoint into a video. You can still do this for free using CamStudio, or you can trade up a step and use Camtasia. You can start afresh, or your can simply use your PowerPoint and add audio-- your own voice, if you think you can do this well, or find someone with a bit of dramatic flair to do this for you. If you want to spend money on this, there is a site called Article Video Robot which will turn your article into a video complete with music and voice-over for a monthly fee. There are tons more ways to get free traffic-- these are just a few hints. Article directories and social bookmarking-- which everyone already knows about-- are just the tip of the iceberg. Any article can be recycled into some non-article form, such as a Pdf. file, .exe file or RSS feed. These can all now be published for free in sites specializing in such formats, and are all available to you as free traffic sources. My overall advice: get your article out there in as many formats as you can, and you can earn real money in affiliate program sales.
