I came across an article recently which claimed that you could earn money easily working three hours a week in an affiliate marketing home business. I thought: "are you kidding me?!" So I put my mind to it: Can anyone really earn any kind of money with such a small investment of time? My answer: Yes, but with reservations. Here's three points to consider: 1. Yes, of course, it is perfectly possible. If the business plan is really super-simple and doable, we might manage it to make SOME money. But what we really need to ask is... 2. Is REAL money possible for you and me with only a few hours a week? Three itty bitty hours a week? That's the real question. Well, whose three hours are we talking about? When a seasoned expert uses three hours, that's different from when a newbie uses those same three hours. But isn't that where most people who start an affiliate marketing home business find themselves--- struggling? And do you think those people will ever earn money easily, if at all? Take playing the piano. Have you ever listened to a really terrific pianist? Anybody should be able to learn the piano, right? But... The question comes down to: Can YOU play well, and would we all pay to hear you? Then, what really matters is... 3. It's what you bring to those three hours that counts! Here's where a lot of us fall down. Again: a good pianist doesn't start out good. He or she becomes good. How did that happen? It was their decision to succeed and grow that made that happen. (When you say it like that, it seems hardly worth saying!) What is demanded of us when we commit to success and growth? It requires getting a mentor. A teacher. Someone who is where the aspiring musician wants to be, and who is capable of leading others to that place. So if we want to make it as affiliate marketers, and if we subscribe to the dream of investing minimum time, what must we do? Two things, and two things only. To earn money easily in an affiliate marketing home business, we must decide in favor of greatness, and then we must find someone else who is already great--- a mentor.
