So, you've decided that you have a need for a website to sell products or maybe to create an online profile for your company. First off you need to decide what type of website will suit your need.

E-commerce

If your looking to sell products online then you will need an e-commerce store. Products can be listed easily with payments going straight into your bank account. We have had previous clients who have made a big success on websites such as Ebay and wanted to target the wider audience with a search engine optimised website. 

Content Management System

First off let me just say that content management systems are brilliant. A content management system is a type of website that is designed so the end user can edit any content within the website from a back end administration panel. This administration panel can be accessed from any browser anywhere in the world, but fear not, all the log in details are totally secure. This gives you the flexibility to change or add any content whenever you like.

The Process

Once you know what type of website you require or what the main goal of it is, its time to contact us. You can either do this by phone, e-mail or even txt. Below is a quick run down of what the development process will consist of.

When you contact us it is best to explain exactly what your business does, where it is situated and what goals you would like the website to achieve. Once we receive this information we can do a quick research on the internet in that particular industry to gain an overview of it.

We will then give you a call or e-mail to see if you would like to set up a meeting or would prefer to just correspond via e-mail or phone. We prefer to come and see our clients as we can then gain a better understanding of what they are trying to achieve.

If you already have an idea of how the website will look and what sections you require then we will work off these ideas to build the best design we can. If you do not know what will look best or what sections you want then we can give you lots of ideas by either showing you our previous work or discussing your competitors website.

We will then design and develop the mock up website on our server which you will be able to view the developemt of through our client area which is accessible from the homepage. Once the mock up is completed we can discuss changes and improvements making sure the website is designed exactly how you want it.

Domain name

A website needs a domain name to operate from and these can be obtained very easily. There are different types of website TLD's to choose from such as the uk favourite of .co.uk or a more international .com. We can either search for a suitable domain name for you or we recommend you acquire one at either one of the following websites:

123-reg

123-reg.co.uk is the cheapest website we know of to buy a .co.uk, .org.uk or a .me uk domain names at around £2.99 a year. They are however quite expensive on the other TLD's

Netfirms

For all of the rest of the domain names we regulary use Netfirms as they are also very cheap for certain TLD's. You can aquire a .com, .net, or even a .org for as little as $6.99 a year.

 Hosting

A website works pretty much in the same way as files on a computer. The website files will need to be stored somewhere so people can view them on your site. This is where a server comes in.
